Acceleration+ is a visionary program developed by Haltech and its partners – Innovation Factory, TechPlace and Global startups - to support innovative international startups looking to expand faster into Canadian and US markets.
Innovation Factory is a not-for-profit business accelerator and a regional innovation centre serving as the catalyst for technology innovation in the Greater Hamilton Area in Ontario. Innovation Factory helps drive market adoption, revenues, investment, jobs, and leverage of intellectual property by providing business services, training, mentorship and strategic connections.
TechPlace offers an established place in Burlington, Ontario, where entrepreneurs from across the region can tap into all the resources they need, under one roof.
The Challenge - Bridging the Gap
Haltech and its partners have knowledgeable and experienced subject matter experts in the topics covered, but there was a gap in instructional design and video development capabilities, essential for transforming this program into a dynamic online learning experience. In addition, the program needed to reach participants around the globe.
That’s where Enable Education stepped in. With decades of experience teaching, developing training, and unlocking the secrets of effective learning. Enable’s team jumped right into the project. The team’s comprehensive approach included sourcing, vetting, and collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), alongside designing and developing the learning experience.
The Solution
The Acceleration+ program includes four self-paced online courses on Investor Readiness, Prepare for Successful Hiring, Sales, and Cybersecurity. These are followed by virtual instructor-led training workshops, where real-world scenarios come to life, fostering an environment where participants can ask questions and share experiences - a crucial element of adult learning.
Addressing the three domains in Bloom’s Taxonomy of Learning (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor), learners are asked to reflect on questions at the end of each course. Action items are included for learners to tailor their newfound knowledge to their own business needs and goals.
The Outcome
The eLearning modules of the Acceleration+ program are a symphony of engagement and effectiveness. Each begins with an animated video, to capture attention, ignite curiosity and fuel the desire to learn. These modules are masterfully crafted into short, digestible lessons, complete with timings for flexible learning.
Each lesson is a mosaic of interactive eLearning content, instructional videos, knowledge checks, and practical exercises, complemented by a hands-on workbook. This is learning reimagined, where every module is a step towards mastery!
