It’s been an exciting year for Enable Education with loads of interesting learning experiences created for clients in industries across the board. We’ve been fortunate to collaborate with some incredibly innovative and forward-thinking organizations to create award-winning learning experiences.
International E-Learning Awards
The International E-Learning Awards are given each year for the best work in online learning. Enable Education entered the awards with a case study on a learning game we created for Second Harvest. Our collaboration was recognized with the Silver Award for E-Learning Experience.
Over 36 years, Second Harvest has prevented more than 162 million pounds of greenhouse gas equivalents from entering the atmosphere, and rescued and redistributed 53 million pounds of food. Second Harvest believes that their impact can be expanded and the goal of the game is to help people make better food storage decisions and reduce their food waste.
This goal will be reached by informing food buyers in homes and community kitchens about ways to extend the lifespan of foods, and by encouraging them to implement and share practical, food recovery and storage best practices. The game shows players easy food storing methods so that they can painlessly prevent food waste in their own homes or community kitchens. These habits will help people extend the life of the food they purchase and positively impact large-scale food waste reduction efforts through small daily actions.
Chief Learning Officer
Chief Learning Officer’s Learning in Practice Awards are presented annually to providers in recognition of excellence in learning and employee development. Enable entered the awards with a learning experience we created for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and was recognized with a Bronze Award for Excellence in Elearning.
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) is an indispensable partner of business and Canada’s largest, most influential provincial chamber. The OCC has 60,000 members, including large multinational corporations, small-to-medium-sized enterprises, labour unions, postsecondary institutions, non-profits, associations, and close to 160 chambers of commerce and boards of trade.
Being an indispensable partner of business means delivering continuous value to help its members grow and compete in the global economy. The OCC’s strategy to achieve this includes expanding small business learning programs and delivering the curriculum province-wide.
Small-business owners take on varied roles within their companies themselves as they may not yet be in a position to hire staff. The OCC, committed to improving business competitiveness across all sectors in Ontario, wanted to provide its members with self-paced online learning that is engaging, effective, practical, and could be completed in the learners’ own time.
The courses in the program present topics that address challenges that the learner audience typically experiences. Customer Service and Sales, Introduction to E-Commerce, Introduction to Human Resources Management and Leadership, Building an Innovative Business, Literacy, and Basic Communication Skills were all identified as topics that would provide relevant and meaningful support to small and medium business owners in Ontario.
Milton Chamber of Commerce
In October this year, Milton Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2023 Community Awards Gala and Enable Education was recognized with the Mid-sized Business of the Year Award. Enable was recognized for our social impact work and contributions to the Milton community, our innovation, our team and our experience.
