2022 has been an exciting year of learning and development partnerships, social impact projects, growth, and industry recognition through a prestigious award for Enable Education. It’s been a huge year for many of our clients too, who’ve made inroads into online learning and continued to enable and delight their customers with effective and engaging education.
Building partnerships with our clients has been the foundation of Enable’s business since we began. This year, we’ve continued to work with long-time partners and formed a number of new partnerships to help serve companies internationally to educate their customers on technology, finance, and sales. Other partnerships have created training for innovative organizations right here in Canada.
NI
Enable Education has been training and development partner to NI for many years and in 2022 our LXD team worked with NI’s Education Services team on their primary software training courses to ensure they align with the latest LabVIEW software updates. Enable also began work on a next generation, blended, and modular course to teach advanced architecting LabVIEW components and applications. This course offers learners self-paced learning as well as one-on-one support from a facilitator and peers.
Sidekick
Sidekick Training and Enable Education have become partners in digital learning offering businesses the best live learning platform from Sidekick, and custom digital learning content, including games and augmented and virtual reality simulations.
Thought Industries
As Thought Industries’ first Verified Helium Partner, we handle Helium integration and the needs analysis for Thought Industries’ clients, and we design and craft learning experiences that are appropriate for specific organizations’ learning cultures.
Canadian Pork Council
The Canadian Pork Council is currently developing a large number of instructional videos, in English and French, to educate Canadian pork farmers on a variety of topics. Enable Education is working with CPC to add interactive knowledge checks with audio, and closed captioning in various languages to those videos.
United Way Halton Hamilton
As a community-centered non-profit, the United Way Halton and Hamilton pride themselves on their ability to identify urgent financial crises and take the necessary steps to address them. Enable and United Way collaborated on developing engaging self-paced learning experiences to help individuals out of immediate financial crises, and connect them with counseling, workshops and online training.
NGen
Due to COVID-19, and wanting to ensure the health and safety of its members, NGen Canada transitioned a major annual in-person event into a virtual event with the support of Enable Education. Enable ensured NGen presented a learning experience that not only resonated with their members, but was also engaging, and effective, and could be re-used for continuous business development.
Social Impact
As part of our own social impact initiatives, Enable Education collaborates on socially-focused projects that train and educate an organization’s stakeholders or community.
RISC
The Center for Radical Innovation for Social Change (RISC) at the University of Chicago is an innovation lab for social change. Motivated by disparities of access to learning around data science, the team at RISC aimed to address this challenge by engaging students with examples of data science in a fun, interactive, incremental game called Algo-Rhythm. Algo-Rhythm encourages kids to examine data from some of their favourite songs to develop different types of playlists. Play the game here.
Second Harvest
Second Harvest is Canada’s largest food rescue organization and is a global thought leader on perishable food redistribution. Enable’s Learning Experience Design (LXD) team worked closely with Second Harvest’s Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and learning team to design and build a game that educates people about food waste and the correct storage to prolong the life of food, so they can decrease their food waste and save money on their grocery bills. The game will be launching in early 2023 – sign up for our newsletter to get our latest updates and be one of the first to play!
Innovated our Services
The Terminal by Urvin Finance is a company whose actions and plans adhere to its mission: to ensure that people are empowered to make better financial decisions, always putting their interests first. The Terminal wants to challenge the status quo by providing a unique way for users to build knowledge and skills with peer-to-peer learning around retail investment at the center. Enable Education has been working closely with The Terminal team providing support to SMEs who are creating content and providing guidance in creating learning paths.
CLO Learning in Practice Award
Enable Education and the Oakville Community Foundation collaborated to create a course titled, Reconciliation, Equity, and Anti-racism, and it has been awarded the 2022 Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Learning in Practice Silver Excellence in Community Service Award! Oakville Community Foundation aims to make long-term positive changes in Oakville, Southern Ontario. While many organizations have already begun their journey learning about Truth, Reconciliation, and Inclusivity, some may be struggling to find the resources they need to implement training. The Foundation wanted to help speed up and amplify the journey to inclusivity by providing a learning resource for organizations to use.
Red T
Enable’s sister company, Red T, has continued to inspire all little (and big) thinkers to play and laugh their way through big questions with the release of two more stories: Idunno and Benny’s Symphony.
Idunno is a sweet, charming, and persistent reminder to readers of all ages that it’s alright to still be discovering and exploring. Being happy with our own Idunno helps us connect to others, to find out about ourselves, and to find thinking adventures in the world around us.
Benny’s Symphony, Independent Press Award, Distinguished Favourite, and Next Generation Indie Book Awards Finalist for 2022, encourages young readers to explore the basic building blocks of music, and fosters an appreciation of artistic creation. It’s sure to inspire other household symphonies, as well as some fascinating conversations.
