15 years ago today, Enable was made up of a couple of educators in a spare room. We were in the midst of a province-wide teachers’ strike, and we decided there was no better time to pull together the threads of an idea we’d been nurturing for some time. Like most entrepreneurs, we saw potential solutions to challenges in teaching and learning, and because we had both the inclination to help, and some unexpected time on our hands, we made an educated leap (pun intended).
And we’ve never looked back.
Over the past 15 years, our team has grown, our space has grown, our capabilities have grown, and our partnerships with our community and with other organizations looking to improve teaching and learning have grown. We’ve travelled, we’ve given talks, and we’ve published. We’ve rebranded, reformatted and reorganized a few times. We’ve supported and engaged learners around the world, and in our own back yard.
But at our centre, we’ve always been about making teaching, training, and learning easier and better.
Strangely, we’re all back in our spare rooms again. Given current circumstances, we’re not able to come together, face to face, and celebrate this milestone anniversary, but nevertheless, we need to pause and take stock of and really celebrate the past 15 years. To our team, our clients, our communities, our friends and families, thank you for contributing in so many ways.
We can’t wait to see what comes next, and we’re ready.
Happy Anniversary, Enable Education!
